The Mind Behind the frames

Anand Kishore’s short film, Disco Obu, earned a special jury mention at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival. Hailing from Chennai, Anand has a B.Sc. in Visual Communications from Loyola College and holds an MFA in Film from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Asia, where he graduated with the Wasserman Award for screenwriting. He worked as an assistant director to veteran filmmaker, Hariharan, on Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja (2009), a historical film. As Director of Photography, Anand has worked on projects shot throughout the world, including the USA, Cambodia, India, China, Taiwan and Singapore. His work as a cinematographer has premiered at Berlinale and Palm Springs among other major festivals.
