Disco Obu is a short film written and directed by Anand Kishore. The story is about how a journalist captures a day in the life of a former child actor turned auto rickshaw driver and over the course of the day their relationship is tested. Disco Obu was screened at over thirty film festivals. It was awarded Special Jury Mention in the International Competition at 2017 Clermont-Ferrand Festival. It won the 2017 Wasserman Award – Tisch Asia 2nd Prize with Anand Kishore winning the Screenwriting Award at NYU’s 2017 First Run Film Festival. Disco Obu also won the Best Upcoming Film – Coming Stars Panorama Award at 2018 Jaipur International Film Festival and won awards from the National Board of Review (New York) and the HFPA (Los Angeles). It has been streamed on Amazon Prime, Canal+, and Mubi.
